Witch Mercy

I love the in game witch Mercy skin, but let's face it, I don't have time to build everything i love. In stead I really wanted to make a closet cosplay of her Witch costume from the photo on Winstons wall in the animated short "Recall".

Now I just wait for the Halloween event in Overwatch, hoping for a new Sombra skin ;)

The hat is the one I made for my Shock costume a couple of years ago, and the wig is my Mercy wig, just a little restyled.

NCC 2017

I had such a cool time at NCC, and even more so because my sister had also qualified for this competition and we could hang together back stage and cheer each other on <3 And we got to the third contestant from Norway, Melina Edvardsen, much better and she is totally awesome. Go team Norway.

Here you have all contestants with assistants and in front is the Norwegian Committee member Eirik Lie Reiersen who's in charge of the organizing the norwegian team.

We also met up with Ingrid Widsland (last year contestant and singing the opening song this year) and Martine Tufte, holding the flag which won first place last year (so proud).

I chose to  make Sombra for the NCC 2017 and boy was that a difficult costume. See tutorials here.

In the end I really loved my show too, and a huge thanks to Karin Olava for being my assistant and "Russian bitch" (Katya Volskaya). We did so much derp.

This is a a huge competition, broadcasted live on Scandinavian television, which meant several interviews and rehearsals.

Here's my interview shown before my show (so the crew had time to clear the stage and put out my stage props)

And my performance

In the end neither of us placed, but we had a super great time and are now besties with all the guys from Team Finland.

Sombra Gun

The gun is my favorite part of this cosplay, and quite fun to build (except all the sanding... so much sanding)

To build the base sculpt I made several layers of mdf plywood, laser cut from vector files. A great puzzle.

And the unscrambling begins.

Smoothing out the creases and suck with filler.

First layers of primer, soon ready for silicone molding.

And several more layers of primer.

The dividing walls for the silicone.

Brush on silicone.

And a plaster jacket mold.

My first resin cast <3

The electronics
I want lights and a small smoke machine. I used the tutorial from Valkyrie Studios.

Led strip being soldered.

With a small trinket I could charge the battery with a usb cable.

All the guts of the gun laid out. I also added polymorph to the magazine to even out the weight distribution.

All put together and primed.

Base coat

Base colors

I made vector designs in Illustrator and used a vinyl cutter to make the details on the sides.

I also used an air brush and dry brushing to create details.

The metal band is made from thin brass sheet.

And done
