Big sister - lower part of helmet

Flash back wednesday. This is a two year old costume, but what the heck, here it goes. 

How to make the helmet

I figured, why not document this part of the costume too. Step one I made a mannequin by putting a stuffed t-shirt over the back of a chair and covered that again with a plastic bag. 

Then we are back on paper mache

The neck is built up with foam mat and around the neck there is a plastic tube. 

The paper mache is reinforced with glas fibre, Please do this outside. I'm sitting in a door way here with the ventilation on full, still should do this outside if possible. Ventilation is key! 

Then add filler 

And paint
